The Matrix meets WoT
by sidious

The Matrix and WOT universes have crossed creating a weird type of twilight zone…

Semirhage : Captain…

Captain : Oh no..

Semirhage : You were given specific orders not to go into the house and arrest Nynaeve al’Meara before we arrived.

Captain : Hey, I’m just doing my job.

Sammael : The orders were for your protection.

Captain : I think we can handle one little girl. I sent in two units. They’re bringing her out now.

Semirhage : No captain, your men are already dead.

*********************************************************************

Rand : Who are you?

Cadsuane : My name is Cadsuane.

Rand : The Cadsuane who paddled the King of Ilian’s bottom?

Cadsuane : That was a long time ago.

Rand : Light.

Cadsuane : What?

Rand : I thought you were a man.

Cadsuane : Most men do.

Rand : It was you in my dreams. How did you do that?

Cadsuane : Right now, all I can tell you is that you’re in danger. I brought you here to warn you. They’re watching you Rand.

Rand : Who is?

Cadsuane : Just listen. I know why you’re here Rand. I know what brought you here, and why night after night you can’t sleep and stare out the window. You’re looking for the Source. I know because I was looking for it once too, and when it found me, it told me that I wasn’t really looking for it, but for the question. It is the question which drives us. You know the question?

Rand : How can I channel saidin?

Cadsuane : The answer is out there, Dragon… somewhere… probably in some dusty library almost inaccessible to human hands… but out there.

*********************************************************************

Semirhage : As you can see, we’ve had our eyes on you for some time. It seems you’ve been living two lives, Mr al’Thor. On one hand you are a respected farmer. You pay your taxes, farm your potatoes and help Cenn Buie clean his garbage. On the other hand you are the most powerful channeler who has ever lived, and the single obstacle to our conquest to break the Wheel. One of these lives has a future, and one of them does not. My colleagues think I’m wasting my time with you, but I will try my best…

Rand : Hmph.

Semirhage : We know that you’ve been contacted by a woman by the name of Cadsuane. Now, whatever you think you may know about this woman is irrelevant. There are some world leaders and the occasional farmer who consider her to be the most dangerous woman alive. We’re willing to wipe the slate clean, and allow you to herd sheep unharmed for the rest of your days. All that we’re asking is for her location, so that we can bring a known terrorist to justice.

Rand : That’s a nice offer, but I’ve got a better one. How about I shove that Crystal Sword where it don’t shine, and you give me my piece of parchment.

Semirhage : You disappoint me, al’Thor.

Rand : You can’t frighten me with this whitecloak crap. I know my rights. I want my piece of parchment.

Semirhage : Tell me, Mr al’Thor. What good is parchment if you have no hand to write it with?

Rand : Ah my hand. It hurts! Oh mother, that’s sore!

Semirhage : You’re going to help me, Rand, whether you want to… or not.

*********************************************************************

Moiraine : This is the moment of truth. After this there is no going back. You take the shepherd’s staff, and you go to sleep. Everything will go on as before and you can live your life like you want. You take the Crystal Sword and I show you how deep the Pattern can go. Remember… all I’m offering is unmatchable power.

Asmodean : The Pattern is a system, al’Thor. We are trying to enslave that system, but most of these people are so immersed in their own plots, that they will harm us before helping us. Sheep! Were you listening to me, or looking at the wench in the white dress?

Rand : I …

Asmodean : See?

Rand : What is she?

Asmodean : A Forsaken. A powerful channeler who can move around using the One Power. Inside the Pattern, they are everyone and they are no one. Yet they are the gatekeepers. They guard all the doors and hold all the keys. Sooner or later someone has to stand up to them.

Rand : Someone.

Asmodean : I won’t lie to you, Dragon man. Everyone who has stood against a Forsaken, everyone who has challenged them, has died. But where they failed, you will triumph.

Rand : Why?

Asmodean : I’ve seen a Forsaken punch through a concrete wall. Men and women have emptied entire archery legions at them and hit nothing but air. But they are still limited in their strength in the Power.

Rand : What are you saying? I can dodge a flurry of arrows?

Asmodean : Ha! No! I’m saying that when I’m finished with you, you won’t have to.

*********************************************************************

Mesaana : So we have a deal, Elza?

Elza : I want to be important, and rich. And famous… perhaps a queen?

Mesaana : Whatever you want.

Elza : Ok, you get me that and I’ll get you what you want…

Mesaana : The Access Key to the Choedan Kal.

Elza : No, I already told you, I can’t get past those wards. But I can get you that man who can.

Mesaana : al’Thor.

*********************************************************************

Lanfear : So… the great Cadsuane Melaidhrin.

Cadsuane : … and you are?

Lanfear : Lanfear. The Forsaken Lanfear.

Cadsuane : You all look the same to me.

Lanfear : That comment is going to cause you particular pain. You haven’t seen Aginor, have you?

Cadsuane : *scream*

*********************************************************************

Aginor : Do you know that the first Trolloc camps were designed to be perfect where all the creatures would be happy all the time? It was a disaster. The Trollocs wouldn’t stop putting on lipstick. Whole legions were lost. I redesigned the system to reflect the grotesqueries known to human kind.

*********************************************************************

Egwene : We have to save Rand.

Moiraine : Egwene, think clearly. He’s a prisoner and being held by the Forsaken. Four of them!

Egwene : I don’t care. I can do this. What are you doing?

Nynaeve : I’m going with you.

Egwene : No, you’re not!

Nynaeve : No? Let me tell you what I believe. I believe that two women together stand a better chance, and that Rand means more to me than to you. And considering I am stronger in the Power, you can accept this or go to hell. Because that is where we are both going now.

Egwene : Nothing like this has ever been done before.

Nynaeve : That’s why it’s going to work. Your hair’s untidy, Egwene.

Egwene : Blast.

********************************************************************

Moiraine : How did you do that?

Nynaeve : Do what?

Moiraine : You channel like the Forsaken do. I’ve never seen anybody channel so fast.

Nynaeve : It wasn’t fast enough.

*********************************************************************

Be’lal : Goodbye farmer boy.

Moiraine : Dodge this

Be’lal : No!
